Jack Fitzgibbons (President and COO) is a founder of EBM Care. Prior to founding EBM Care in 2009, Mr. Fitzgibbons was the managing director of CarePath, Inc, a medical informatics company grounded in the science of evidence-based medicine. Fitzgibbons served as the managing director and chief business officer of CarePath from 2005 through 2009 and led it from the concept stage to its first revenue and profitability. Prior to CarePath, he founded a marketing agency, Red Bridge Road, with a focus on non-profit development and healthcare.
Dr. Beverly Walters is a neurosurgeon and clinical epidemiologist who is retired from a full time clinical practice in general neurosurgery, focusing on spine, brachial plexus, and peripheral nerve, to pursue her interest in applied evidence-based medicine. Until recently, she maintained her academic appointments as Clinical Professor of Neurological Surgery at New York University Medical School, Adjunct Professor of Neurosurgery of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, and Visiting Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. She was also Director of Outcomes Research at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Her experience in clinical research involves the design and implementation of randomized controlled trials, case-control studies, a meta-analysis, and she has written extensively on study design and assessment of the quality of medical literature, including being the author/co-author of fourteen monographs on critical appraisal, as well as editorials and book chapters on statistical aspects of neurosurgical research. She is the co-editor of the neurosurgical textbook, Evidence-based Neurosurgery.
For many years, Dr. Walters was the chairperson of the Practice Guidelines Committee of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, a member of the Outcomes Committee of the AANS/CNS, and a member of the Committee for the Assessment of Quality of the AANS/CNS. Her guidelines activities have included the development of the Guidelines for the Management of Severe Head Injury, the Guidelines for Prehospital Management of Traumatic Brain Injury, Guidelines for Penetrating Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury Guidelines, Guidelines for the Treatment of Low Grade Gliomas, and the Guidelines for the Management of the Neurobehavioral Consequences of Traumatic Brain Injury. Her work on the Spinal Cord Injury Guidelines was recognized by Congress for its achievement.
John Bazin (Chief, External and Corporate Affairs) has over 25 years of leadership experience with Fortune 200 companies such as Anheuser Busch, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Waste Management and Cendant Corporation, where he spent six years building a government affairs program from the ground up. John's diverse experience spans consumer products, information technology, health care, pharmaceutical, environmental, energy, travel and tourism, hospitality, aviation, real estate, and financial services. John's expertise spans all aspects of a modern, sophisticated government relations function including: procurement, issue management, policy and research, opinion research, lobbying, grassroots, political giving strategies, and trade association management and coalition building. As a consultant, his services range from strategic planning, program evaluation, procurement, public affairs campaign development, lobbyist identification and management, direct lobbying and legislative tracking services. His expanding list of clients has included health industry organizations such as HDMA (Health Care Distribution Management Association) and Fox Chase Cancer Center.
Robert Gebbie (Chief Financial and Technology Officer) is a founder of EBM Care. Mr. Gebbie is a seasoned operations and finance executive with over 30 years of experience in investment banking, non-profit development, manufacturing, healthcare and technology. Mr. Gebbie served as President of Dickerson Occupational Health Corporation (sold in 1990) and owned and operated an outpatient urgent care facility. He has served as Senior VP with Chemical Bank Holding Co. (Mergers and Acquisitions) and as controller/CFO of their Real Estate Asset Securitization Operations. Prior to Chemical Bank, Mr. Gebbie worked at Cummins Engine Company as Director of Bio-Mechanical Engineering and with Exxon Corporation as a Senior Analyst in their Treasury and Refining Divisions. Following years of industry experience, Mr. Gebbie began working for non-profits first as a Senior Executive for the American Museum of Natural History, then as COO/CFO of the Guggenheim Foundation responsible for world-wide expansion of the Guggenheim Museums, and finally as CFO and Chief Administrative Officer of the United States Tennis Association/US Open. For the past 8 years, he has been President and Co-Founder of Natural Bridge Group, a firm that invests and manages early stage technology ventures and provides advisory services to SMB companies.
Jason Cali (Analyst) is a recent addition to the EBM Care team. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 with a BA in Political Science. He spent a summer studying abroad in Shanghai, China, and left school proficient in both Spanish and Chinese. After graduating, Jason spent two years teaching mathematics in northern Washington, DC as part of the Teach for America program. While teaching, Jason attended American University and earned his Masters degree in Secondary Education. Prior to graduating, among other experiences, Jason worked on the finance and fundraising side of a United States Presidential campaign. As an analyst at EBM Care, Jason is responsible for advancing and developing partnerships with hospitals and states. He is also working to make ROI data more accessible to state partners, and current and future investors. Jason will provide financial analysis for new product development and help identify opportunities to expand EBM Care current product line. Jason will also support senior management efforts to expand into new business categories and geographies.
